An attractive 18k gold Omega from circa 1955 featuring a beautiful minimalist dial and case from D&A (DiVincenzo & Arienti).
DiVincenzo & Arienti was a case manufacturer based in New York who made cases for brands such as Omega, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre / LeCoultre, Longines, Eglin, among others. Shipping watches uncased was a common practice at the time, done to avoid the prohibitively high duty rates on gold.
The watch's US connection is further strengthened by the letters "OXG" found on the movement; the US import mark for Norman Morris, anagentof Omega watches in the US at the time.
As for the watch itself, the dial is in immaculate condition as is the 35mm case. The movement has obviously seen some good wear over the years (it is over 60 years old!) with part of the movement appearing to have been changed at some point in the past. That said, it has been serviced and is in excellent running order.
Finally we've fitted the watch with a minimalist black leather strap to keep the focus on that stunning dial and elegant case!
All in all, a beautiful and quite unique Omega with barrels of vintage charm.
