A fine and rare example of theOmega 2808-1 from circa 1956. Complete with an extract from the archives, this reference CK 2808 is in exceptional condition throughout.

The reference CK 2808 is perhaps the most famous and rarest iteration of the references created between the late 1930'sto the 1950's. Whereas most dress watches of the time measured in between 32-34mm, jumbo Omega's were typically 37 or 38mm. In the case of the reference 2808 however, it measured in at a whopping 40mm - truly massive for its time!

This particular example is in superb condition throughout and probably the best we've ever come across. We purchased this from an enthusiastic collector of jumbo Omega watches some time ago but decided to sit on it before releasing it for sale.

The owner sold it to us as having an original dial but, in all honesty, we think it's more likely to have been refinished at some point, albeit to an incredibly high standard. The sub-dial hand also appears to be a replacement. The case is immaculate for its age with only the occasional mark. Likewise the , which has been fully serviced, is as clean as they come. Finally we've fitted it to a new leather strap to complete this wonderful watch.
