With this Omega Seamaster 600, reference 135.011, it is easy to appreciate the perfect combination ofclassic design and simplicity. The watch has a 35mm gold plated case,in greatcondition, off-white dial, and is powered by the well-regardedcalibre 601 movement.
The Seamaster was introduced in 1948 to commemorate Omega's 100th year of producing timeless timepieces, and it remains the brand'slongestmodel in productionto this day. According to Omega, the Seamaster was loosely based on the waterproof wristwatches made for the British military at the end of World War II, the Seamaster was first intended as a robust yet elegant watch for active individuals who wanted a watch for town, sea and country.The Seamaster 600 is one of our favourites, and this watch is no exception!
These vintage items fulfil the definition of being suited for the busy man about town after fifty-five years (however we must note that taking old timepieces anywhere near the water is not suggested!). This version, from 1966, has a fresh new leather strap and looks good with everything from a suit to jeans and a t-shirt.
Technical & Condition
Condition:The dial on this watch has been assessed as excellent withonly a few marks visible on the dial. Likewise, the hands remain in excellent shape. The glass, a generic Plexi replacement (as is common for these watches) is new and free from scratches. The case remains in good condition overall with no loss of plating. As expected there are some age-related scratches, most notably just above the crown (which has been replaced with a generic one). The watch is fitted to a new Hirsch leather strap.
