A beautiful 1962 Omega Seamaster Automatic, reference 14905, with a stunningly simple dial. With specimens like these, it's easy to see why the Omega Seamaster is our most popular "affordable" antique watch.
Omega's Seamaster is the company's longest-running product line. It was first presented in 1948, and it was based on designs created for the Royal Navy of Great Britain at the end of WWII.
The watertight seal provided by an O-ring gasket was a major feature of the original Seamaster. This design was originally intended for use in submarines during WWII, but it turned out to be helpful for timepieces as well, since it made them far more resistant to temperature and pressure fluctuations than previous (lead or shellac) based gasket designs.
This Seamaster de Ville has a clean 34mm gold plated casing with a serviced, automatic Calibre 552 movement, making it a sturdy yet attractive watch.
