A lovely example of the Rolex GMT-Master 16700 from circa 1999. This example features the sought after "Swiss only" dial and is presented in excellent condition throughout.
The Swiss only dial of the 16700 was only produced for one year and has become somewhat of a collectors item among fans of the GMT-Master reference 16700.
Launched in 1988, theGMT-Master ref. 16700is a fascinating watch in its own right, representingsomewhat of a transitional reference between vintage and modern iterations of the GMT model line.
Whilst the GMT-Master II ref. 16760 was launched 5 years prior, it wasn't until the discontinuation of the GMT-Master II ref. 16700 that the GMT-Master II would become Rolexs flagship pilots watch and last of the GMTMaster era.
When compared to its predecessor, the ref. 16750, the 16700 benefited from a sapphire crystal, applied white gold indexes to the dial, and a new movement.
Condition Report
Presented in excellent overall condition. The dial and hands remain in excellent condition. The bezel has started to fade giving a lovely feel to the watch. Whilst the case shows some minor scratches it remains in good shape. The ref. 78360 bracelet remains tight and will fit wrists up to 19cm. The calibre 3175 automatic movement previously received a comprehensive service and is running well. Finally the watch comes with its original box.
