A 26mm example of an early Rolex Oyster with a 9k gold cushion case. This Rolex Oyster hails from circa 1927 and is powered by a Rolex Prima manual wind movement.
The Oyster case is probably one of the most recognised aspects of a Rolex watch and it can trace its roots back to the mid 1920's when Rolex first deputed the now iconic case design.
This example features the smaller 26mm case with a stunning guilloche dial adding an extra layer of sophistication to an already beautifully minimalist dial design. On the inside, the case is stamped with the relevant R.W.C (Rolex Watch Company) mark, gold hallmarks, patent numbers and the case maker mark. You'll also find various engravings left by various watchmakers at service throughout its life.
A stunning watch with real charm and bags of history to go with it. Hopefully its new owner will look after it for another 100 years and countless generations to come!
