A lovely early example of the Rolex Oyster, one of the most famous horological timepieces of the twentieth century. This stunning steel Rolex Oyster Royal, reference 4444,hails from the late 1940s and includes a charmingly aged dial as well as a freshly serviced manual wind Rolex movement. Its 32mm diameter is ideal for both men and women who want a smaller, more subtle look in their vintage timepieces.
The two-part steel casing is made up of a solid upper body and a separate screw-down rear. Rolex's Ref. 4444 is unique in that it has a scooped rather than chamfered bezel, andthis example still has the original Rolex Oyster crown from the 1940s.
Technical & Condition
Condition:Presented in overallgood vintage condition. The dial has taken on a light patina but remains clean. The hands show discolouration but their aging matches that of the dial. The case remains clean. There is evidence of what appears to be an old sticker on the case back but we have left this (and the rest of the case) unpolished. The movement whilst showing some discolouration is serviced and running well. Finally the watch is fitted with a new third party strap.
